Hilton Hotels Corporation announced today that Alexander Mirza has been named to the newly-created position of senior v . p . of corporate development. Benefiting his significant hospitality industry experience in both the corporate and consulting environments, he will be working company-wide on new product development and partnerships, including food and beverage offerings, health clubs and spas, among others. Mirza will be based at the Hilton Hotels Corporation World Headquarters in Beverly Hills and reports directly to Matthew J. Hart, president and chief operating officer.

Prior to joining Hilton, Mirza was a senior executive within the travel and transportation practice at Accenture. Before Accenture, Mirza was head of strategic planning at Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, where he was accountable for brand positioning, development planning and business innovation. Mirza started his career initially Financial, Inc. and opened the initial U.S. office servicing corporate high net-worth clients. His consulting background includes several years of project management experience with Deloitte/Braxton Associates within the areas of value-based management, growth strategy and globalization.

Mirza was subsequently a senior principal at Strategos, an innovation consultancy where he dealt with Hotel Management inside the luxury hospitality, travel, consumer and asset management industries in the parts of customer strategy, cool product development and repair innovation. Mirza holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, with a focus on brand marketing and corporate strategy. He also holds an M.A. in Economics along with a B.A. Honors from Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada.
