It's brass reed plates are recessed into the blue plastic comb providing a smooth(meaning comfortable and fast)feeling instrument. Great for folks just starting out - not yet sure if they want to try to become the next PT Gazell. Inexpensive enough to give away at Sunday schools, classrooms, family reunions, backyard get-togethers, and as corporate promotions, the Blue Steel is the best harmonica value we've found!
